Internship : Stoneage
Description of the LINK Program
In Animas High School we have the opportunity to go outside of our daily school routine and intern a company we are interested in. We have to go through the process of getting a job or internship. Meaning we have to prepare both a resume and cover letter, go to the company for an interview, and then go to work as if it were a normal job 9-5. During these three weeks we also have to do a small project that will benefit the company. It is completely open ended and up to the student.
Stoneage makes waterblast tools. Mostly used industrially as cleaning tools because of their sheer power. With some holding back a PSI of 40,000. For example one of their tools was able to make a fallout shelter by cutting through rock in the side of a cliff. It has now turned into a small hotel in Utah that is accessible by the populous. So, you can imagine the type of precision they have to use so that the tool doesn't just become shrapnel. That is what I was interested in and one of the reasons I went to Stoneage for my internship.
